How to Protect Yourself from the Heartbleed Vulnerability

On April 10th BIT posted a warning about a computer security vulnerability called the Heartbleed.  Have you taken the time to protect yourself?  Wondering what you need to do?

As a follow-up, BIT wanted to pass along a document that helps individuals easily understand what they need to do to protect themselves.  SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) is one of the largest and most trusted source for security information in the world.  Recently, SANS has received a great deal of feedback from organizations needing help explaining to their employees and staff what they can do to protect themselves concerning the Heartbleed vulnerability.  The SANS team has released a special edition newsletter that explains in simple terms what the vulnerability means to individuals and how they can protect themselves.

Please, help us spread the word to South Dakota organizations and individuals! Review this document, print it off and hang in your office, or simply email your friends and family the link.  The document can be found on the following site: http://www.securingthehuman.org/newsletters/ouch/issues/OUCH-2014-special_en.pdf
