BIT provides a variety of application services ranging from defining business processes to software development and hosting applications as well as GIS, document imaging and enterprise application integration solutions.

In order for state government processes and services to function properly, there are key components that must connect and interact with one another to ensure the appropriate information and resources are available to the citizens of South Dakota. These processes and services include networking, messaging, phone services, conferencing and state radio communications.

Data Storage
Data storage is provided through a secure and reliable environment by using technologies that provide redundancies and the ability to restore lost or damaged data. In this section you will find a variety of information on databases, business continuity, network storage and environmental management.

Desktop Management
State government employees rely heavily on their desktop computing environment to accomplish their day to day work. In this section you will find a variety of information on desktop management, asset distribution, printers along with specifics on hardware and software.
Media Services
South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB) is a statewide TV and radio broadcaster and the local affiliate to Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR). SDPB is also the statewide point of contact for the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Amber-Alert.

Project Management
The purpose pf our Project Management Office is to allow for early identification of opportunities, as well as provide an excellent level of support to fully utilize technology to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and ultimately provide better products and services to the citizens of South Dakota. A team of dedicated leaders with positions that are less technically focused shifted into roles to exclusively support project management and point-of-contact responsibilities. This leaves our clients with a single point-of-contact who serve as their customer advocate when working with BIT, representing that agency or office and making it easier and more efficient to do business with us. 

Information and technology security means protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction.

Support Services
BIT offers up a variety of support services and operations to our clients through Help Desk assistance, information on billing and rates, project management responsibilities along with requirements and processes on proposal requests.
