SD School of Mines and Technology Career Fair
Those exhibitors in attendance and ready to recruit future and potential employees included, but were not limited to: SD Department of Environment and Natural Resources, SD and ND Departments of Transportation, SD Bureau of Information and Telecommunications, Hornady Manufacturing Company, Bobcat Company, Vermeer, Wurth Electronics and Midcom, Inc, U.S. Department of Interior, Black Hills Corporation, BNSF Railway, Montana Dakota Utilities, Caterpillar, Daktronics, Hormel Foods Corporation, Innovative Systems, Terex and more.
Our staff spoke one on one with at least 30 students throughout the day. Several students were interested in summer internships in which we received 15 resumes and one gentleman signed up for a development job interview that took place this morning.
At SDSMT, 92 percent of students had obtained interim job placement by January 1, 2013. Several undergraduate students were very interested in internships and co-op experiences. The average salary offer for 2011-2012 graduates was $62,696 and 76 percent of 2011-2012 graduates had an internship or co-op experience.
