Employee Recognition

Last fall, BIT staff completed an Employee Satisfaction Survey. This survey indicated that our agency needed to do a better job of recognizing efforts of individual employees. A committee was formed to evaluate the survey results and come up with ideas on how to make improvements to the internal employee recognition process. Next to that, goal three of the BIT strategic plan includes providing meaningful recognition to our employees and we hope to continue to do just that going forward.

The plan is to offer additional jeans days each month with proceeds going toward the Employee Recognition Fund. This fund banks donations from recognition events and additional jeans days in order to better recognize our employees for the hard work and commitment they have put forth over the years. Funds provide an opportunity to purchase additional incentives for employees. In addition, we have what is now called the Employees of the Quarter. On a quarterly basis, each division will be asked to submit nominations along with an explanation as to why an individual is being recognized, honored and rewarded. Criteria for submissions has also been developed and shared among staff.

In honor of their outstanding performance and dedication to BIT, state government and the citizens of South Dakota, we gladly recognize Bonnie Bauder, Keith Hemmelman and Kenny Miller for their high standards of excellence and thank them for all they do. They truly make a difference within our agency. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
