Tanner Hajek has recently joined BIT as a Software Engineer.
Tanner is a South Dakota native - born and raised in Tyndall - and has recently moved to Pierre. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. In his thesis for the honors program, he explored the topic of data breaches.
Previous work experience for Tanner includes working on the family farm, lifeguarding, and coaching young swimmers. He looks forward to getting hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn from others while creating tools that make life easier for other state employees.
Tanner’s hobbies include gaming and, unsurprisingly, swimming. He has participated in the Junior Olympics as both a swimmer and a volunteer coach. He is no stranger to travel as he has family in Arizona, Colorado, and across the Midwest.
