Julie Andersen, Executive Director of South Dakota
Public Broadcasting (SDPB), was recently awarded the Distinguished
Service Award by the South Dakota High School Activities Association at
the 11AAA football championships on November 16 in Vermillion.
She has worked for SDPB for over 24 years and began
working part-time in the development department while completing her BA
in English and Journalism from SDSU. Julie was named Executive
Director of SDPB in 1997.
As Executive Director, Julie is responsible for
operations of the state public broadcasting network which includes nine
TV and eleven radio transmitters, as well as six TV and nine radio
translators.
Under her direction, the radio network expanded, the TV system transitioned to digital, and the network has won numerous local, regional and national awards.
